McTimoney for Horses
McTimoney therapy is a non-invasive, gentle and holistic treatment. It works to realign and rebalance the animals musculoskeletal system, thus restoring and optimising the animals health, movement, soundness and performance. As the treatment is so gentle it is readily accepted by the majority of animals.

McTimoney treatment can help relieve an animals pain and restore movement following an injury due to trauma such as an accident, fall, slip, bump, collision etc. but can also help with non acute problems caused by conformation, work load, tack fit, equipment used, rider balance, excess weight, foot balance etc. McTimoney treatment can also help keep animals in tip top condition with routine treatments every 6-12 months to ensure the musculoskeletal system is functioning correctly and the animal is pain free and able to perform to the best of their ability.
What will happen during your treatment session
The treatment will start with a detailed case history, this will allow Jonelle to get an understanding of the animals individual case, including details of the injury or changes in behaviour observed, any previous injuries, accidents, problems, and the animals daily routine, work load etc.

Next the spine, pelvis and any other relevant joints are thoroughly analysed for any misalignemnts or spasms within the muscles.

These misalignment and muscle spasms are then treated using very precise and rapid McTimoney adjustments alongside massage techniques. The McTimoney technique uses only the hands for both analysis and treatment and Jonelle has a very finely tuned sense of touch which is capable of detecting even the smallest of misalignments. The treatment is tailored to the individual animal so is suitable for animals of all sizes and ages.

Following the treatment Jonelle will recommend a tailor made aftercare programme depending on what was found during the analysis and treatment. Aftercare will generally involve rest or reduced exercise for a few days, so it is important to ensure you do not schedule a McTimoney treatment too close to a competition or event. The animal may require several treatments depending on their injury or issue and it is recommended that animals receive regular check-ups as a preventative measure and to help maintain optimum performance and helth.

Please call Jonelle to discuss your animals individual requirements and to schedule your animals treatment.
